Hello, Blogger Friends.
I haven't died or gone into the witness protection program, January just turned into a pretty crazy month.
Not long after my last post, my laptop started acting pretty weird and I sent it off to my Uncle's to see if there was anything to be done. I was going to see my Sister for a few days and I planned on using her Mac while there. Well, her computer was stolen while in the hotel safe. Awesome, right?
So I've pretty much been computer-less for the last few weeks. I'm not going to lie, It's actually been sort of nice. The negatives far outweigh the positive, but after the first few days the horrendous pain becomes manageable. I'm hoping to save some money up and get a new laptop. As it turns out, mine is just old and on it's way out. Hopefully it will last a little while longer. I have a couple of posts planned, so I'll be back relatively soon.

It's odd, some of those books, I feel like I read them ages ago, they've already soaked into my day to day so much. The list also seems so short. I think part of that is because I started so many books last year, but since I didn't finish them, they didn't make the list. I also really didn't have a lot of time to read. I was working and playing and knitting and many other things that took me away from books. I'm going to try to not let that happen this year.
I think the books that made the biggest impact on me were these,

Stephanie Perkins is my new favorite and Weetzie Bat. Wow. I feel like if I was a writer, I would write sort of like Francesca Lia Block. Or, I'd want to write like her. I've wanted to read Dean & Me for a long time, but I was worried it would ruin Martin & Lewis for me, but it only made me love them more.
Ok, Darlings... Dishes are calling for me. Honestly, at their age, you'd think they'd know how to bathe themselves!

Wow. That year went by fast! Although, in June/July it felt like it would never end.
Good things happened last year and bad things happened... I think that's true of ever year. I have very high hopes for '12. I have direction with what I want to do in/with my life and that is a fantastic start.
I don't really have "resolutions" as much as I'm just trying to create order/scheduling for my life. You wouldn't think graduating would have freaked me out as much since I was home schooled, but it did a number on my time management, or lack thereof.
Soooo... My point being, I'm starting a 365 project!

I wanted to start it on my birthday, but obviously that didn't happen, so it's starting today! I hope I can keep up with it!
*sigh* I'm so very sorry, I didn't go to sleep until 5 AM and even though I slept in, I am still quite exhausted. I'm going to stop here and I'll be back tomorrow or the day after.

FFF #11: Cinderella

This is a fitting almost-New-Years-Eve movie!
Sleeping Beauty has been my favorite Disney movie pretty much since forever, but I remember watching Cinderella a lot when I was a kid.
I really appreciate Cinderella now, because the animation is just so gorgeous. I love the color palette and Mary Blair's concept art is so beautiful. I love Alice, but I really think Cinderella is my favorite of the 3 movies she had a big impact on.

Favorite Film Friday #10: Elf/Happy 23rd Day of Christmas!

Elf.
Oh. My. Word. This movie. Seriously.

I always say that I never know what to say about my favorite movies, but seriously... Does anything have to be said about this movie? I'm watching this movie right now, but I really don't have to because I've seen this movie so many times, I know the whole thing back and forth. Last year, we went to a quote-a-long and it was fantastic. We had a balloon/snowball fight in the theater, we blew bubbles while Zooey + Will sang "Baby It's Cold Outside" and we rang jingle bells every time we saw Reindeer. It was quite magical. They even had a spaghetti with syrup eating contest before the movie started.
If you haven't seen this movie yet, I recommend you going down to your local video rental and watching it. Your life will forever be changed.

I love this time of year. I truly do. Why can't it be acceptable to keep fairy lights and tinsel up all year long? The world can be such a magical place... It makes me sad that everybody gets on board to help for a few months of the year. I guess I'm just biased since I like twinkly/glowy things though. There can be magic in the Springtime when sprouts start to peek out in flowerbeds... In the Summertime on the beach collecting shells... And in the Fall when gusts of wind send Autumn leaves flying. I do think it's most magical at Christmastime. I've been working most everyday so far this season, but here are a few pictures I've snapped in my spare time.

Favorite Film Friday #8: Bachelor Mother/ Happy 9th Day of Christmas!

This (to me) is a sign that the next 2 hours or so of your life will be enjoyable.

I love this movie. It’s so silly. In that way most movies from the 30’s/40’s are. It’s about Polly Parrish, a girl working at Merlin’s Department Store.

She's fired after working there for about 3 weeks and on her way back from her lunch break, she witnesses a woman abandoning a baby on a doorstop, and things only get worse from there.

Everyone assumes the baby is hers (who wouldn’t?) and so, she gets her job back at Merlin’s and with it, the attention of David Merlin, the son of the John B. Merlin, her boss.

I love Ginger Rogers.

I love David Niven.

I love Ginger Rogers and David Niven together.

This movie is adorable and zany and everytime I watch it, I enjoy it more than the last. I always watch it this time of year since it takes place between Christmas and a little after New Year's.

It was actually remade into a musical starring Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher in the 50’s. It’s pretty cute too, but as per usual, I think the original is better.

Hello!
Have you gotten all of your Christmas shopping done? I haven't. This December really crept up on me. I can't believe it's December 8th already! Christmas will have come and gone before I can blink again!
Today, I'm going to share my Gingerbread Cookie recipe. I'm hoping to take a few hours for myself this year to do a bit of baking... It may be on New Year's Eve at this rate though!

Gingerbread Cookie Recipe:
3 cps. Flour
1 cp. Brown Sugar
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Ginger
1 stick of Butter (room temp.)
2 Eggs
2 tbs. Unsulphured Molasses
Cinnamon, Cardamom, Nutmeg, Pepper and Cloves to taste

Mix the eggs, sugar, butter and molasses together in one bowl and mix in the dry ingredients slowly.
Freeze for an hour or so, until the dough is firm. Roll out and cut into cute shapes. Bake at 350 Degrees for 13-15 minutes. Enjoy with a glass of milk!

I think this is the most Christmas-sy movie ever. If you aren't familiar with Kay Thompson's precocious heroine, well... You must have been living under a rock. Eloise is one of my role models. The other one is Batman.

Lola And The Boy Next Door

Remember many months ago when I blogged about Anna and the French Kiss and Stephanie Perkins next book? Well I just finished reading her second book like, 6 minutes ago.
It was fantastic. So much better than I imagined and I was imagining a pretty brilliant book.
Unfortunately, it now makes me wish I had grown up in San Francisco next door to an impossibly tall inventor. *sigh* Oh well, that's what books are for, right?

This is a screenshot I took last month to show how I had been anxiously awaiting for Lola to come out.

I have three pies to bake and I just realized that evaporated and condensed milk are not the same thing. Yikes!

Birthday Presents!

See, it hasn't even been a month since my birthday and I'm finally getting around to blogging about it! I'm getting faster in my old age!
So, I got a lot of really awesome presents this year. My friends and family really spoiled me. I'm just mentioning a few, because you don't really want to read a detailed inventory, right?

FIRST! My Ah-mazing mother got me a hair cut! I love having short hair. It's not really short, but compared to how long it had been, I almost feel bald. In the best possible way.

Next, My friends Melinda, Courtney, Carmen and Jessi were super awesome. Melinda gave me a bunch of candy including a whirly pop. I still haven't eaten it yet... I don't know if I ever will, it's so cute!
Courtney gave me a Littlest Pet Shop Blythe doll. I love her glasses! Jess gave me a Lisa Frank pen and a piggy bank (to save up money so I'll go visit her) and a cute little cell phone charm. iPhone not included.
And then there is Carmen's present... Carmen gave me a Jacob Black Barbie doll. I laughed for 5 minutes when I opened the box. He was something I never thought anyone would have given to me. I think a lot of the best presents/memories are things like that.

Then we have my sister's present. I actually knew what she was getting me all along, but that changes nothing about how awesome it was. Amanda went to the Austin Teen Book Festival and got my copy of "Anna and the French Kiss" and "Lola and the Boy Next Door" autographed by Stephanie Perkins!!!

What I pretty much want any book I ever have signed to say. Michael Buckley started it.

She wished me a happy birthday!!!!!

All in all, I declare this 20th celebration of MadFests a sucess!

This is my all time favorite movie. I can't really explain why... It's been my favorite movie since I was 6.
I only watch it once a year, on or around my Birthday.

You've got Jerry Lewis, Dean Martin and Carmen Miranda. Three of my all time favorite people.

Things That Make Me Happy (Right Now) Vol. 2

It's been quite a while since I did a post like this. I thought it would be kind of neat to look back and see what I was obsessed with on my last day of teendom (and I promise I'll shut up about it after this!)

1. The show "Boys Before Flowers". I'm only on episode 8, but I have become completely addicted. I'm hoping I get some birthday money so I can buy the whole series on DVD.

2. This print from Janet Hill Studio. I actually really love all of her paintings. I wish my walls could be covered in them. Or better, that I could just live in them.

3. A Charlie Brown Christmas Soundtrack

4. Weetzie Bat & Witch Baby by Francesca Lia Block. They have been inducted into my favorite books. I read them for the first time not even a month ago and I already want to read them again. That's basically how I feel about Boys Before Flowers, too.

I cut my hair!

After and Before! I've been watching a bunch of Korean TV and I dug out a bunch of my J-Rock + J-Pop... That's why I'm doing that with my hand. I'm a nerd.

YAYAYAY!!! I will no longer have my life dictated to me by my hair! If I wanna wear it down, I don't have to worry about the dreadlocks that will soon be in my future!

Here it is: I've opened an Etsy store!

I'm so excited! I've been working out kinks and such for the past month or so and I'm relieved/ecstatic to finally have everything live! I'm selling hair clips made out of vintage Christmas decorations. Some of them are really super Christmas-sy and others are just really shiny :) I'm still gathering materials and making new things... There's going to be a bunch of stuff in the store soon, I just really wanted to go ahead and open the doors!

FFF #4: The Fall

What?! Two FFF posts in a row? What is the world coming to?!?!

I didn't have a lot of time this week to take screen grabs and such, so this will be a rather short post. (I say that now, but we'll see by the time I'm done with it.)

Since Fall has officially arrived down here in the South, what better movie to feature next then "The Fall"! Get it? "Fall" as in the season... Ok.. You've got it.
This is a very beautiful movie. Seriously. Tarsem Singh is a great director. I just found out/realized that he's directing the new Snow White movie. Now I'm actually excited about seeing it!
I initially only watched this movie because Lee Pace is in it, which is a perfectly fine reason to watch a movie, but it was so much better than I expected. This is sort of a hard movie to describe... It's one of those story-within-a-story types... Basically, Lee Pace + Pretty Cinematography + Cute Little Girl + Awesome Fight Scenes + (Spoilers) = BEAUTIFUL MOVIE!

Happy October!!

I can't believe it's already here! Where has the year gone? It seems like it's going to be Summer already and then, poof! There goes September and then you've got 3 holidays back to back! I'm really excited about it. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas... They'll be here before we know it! I'm also terribly excited because in 19 days I will no longer be 19. I've been preparing myself all year by saying, "I'm almost 20." Instead of, "I'm 19." I might've sounded a bit immature to some people when I said that in January... But I tend to have a hard time remembering my age anyways (Sometime I'll tell you about the PG-13 debacle at Blockbuster) and this is going to be such a transition... I'm having a... Quarter life crisis? Is that right?
Well, I've got some stuff I need to do (I need to do all the teenage-ry things I can in the next 19 days!) so I'll leave you with some pretty Fall-ish pictures from Weheartit.

Favorite Film Friday #3: Howl's Moving Castle

Remember how I said that book to film adaptions are always awful? Well, this is an exception.

One of my favorite parts of the book/movie is that Sophie is a milliner. It just makes me so happy.

Miyazaki's (wonderful) movie is very different from the book and that's a good thing. What usually upsets me most about adaptions is they are either too far away from source material or too close to it. This movie is clearly inspired by the book, but it's far enough away that I can enjoy both without one being ruined by the other.

I very rarely re-read books, but I've read Howl's Moving Castle (and it's first sequel, Castle in the Air) many, many times.

My copy does not have this on the cover.

Diana Wynn Jones is brilliant and I love what Hayao Miyazaki did with her story. The English dub cast is fantastic. We've got Christian Bale, Emily Mortimer(!!!), Jean Simmons, Josh Hutcherson, Lauren Bacall, Blythe Danner and Billy Crystal! Will Friedle even has a teeny cameo!

I know a lot of purists like to listen to the original dub with subtitles, but Disney's team does such a fantastic job gathering talent for these movies, it seems wrong not to listen to it at least once or fifty times!

It Rained Today

From one extreme to another! It has been dry, dry, dry here for most of the Summer, and then today not only did it rain, it hailed! I got the super fun experience of running through the hail to get my puppies. I know. You're jealous. ;)
Because I am still wrapped up in awe at all the cool things my phone can do, here is a video of the hail and many instagram photos.

The last time I was in a hail storm, I was... probably 8 and I was at gymnastics class, which took place in a metal building, so it sounded like boulders were being heaved at us. My friends and I ran around like maniacs hiding from the impending doom while our teacher went outside to check it out. He said the hail was about the size of a tennis ball. That was a fun afternoon.

This is after I braved the storm to bring my babies inside. I wasn't very happy. My rain boots took on water.

Autumn Equinox

It doesn't much look or feel like Fall here in Texas. It's getting closer though. Temperatures have been in the 90's the past few days. That's almost as cold as it usually is on Christmas! Haha
I wish it looked a little more like this outside...

At least I can go to Starbucks and get pumpkin muffins! Yum.

Reading Habits

I have a really bad habit of starting a book, then getting another book and then I read a few pages that turn into chapters. This process continues to go on and on until I am in the middle of 6 books.

I excel at taking fuzzy photos.

Six books. How did this happen? I have no idea which one I should finish first. I stacked them in order of when I started reading them. I've been reading Runemarks since last Summer. Wait... that's not true. I started Runemarks last Summer. I haven't read anymore of it since then. There are a few more that I seem to have misplaced, too... I know I started Hector and the Search For Happiness and The Cabinet of Wonders: The Kronos Chronicles Book I.

I love this book. I'm about 4 chapters in. It reminds me of Pushing Daisies.

I think I hid the Cabinet of Wonders under the bed in my Sister's old room so I wouldn't have to feel so guilty about not reading it. I was having a hard time getting into it. There is a season for every book and that book's season has not yet come.
I know I won't really be finishing any of those books soon because I got this in the mail Tuesday.

Season 7 starts back next Friday! I'm so excited!

FFF #2: Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging

Georgia. Oh, Georgia.

Yes, she is dressed like a giant olive.

I love this movie.
I love these books.

They are full of wisdomosity and hilariosity. What? You aren't familiar with those terms? You will be if you watch/read Georgia. I think the books (Louise Rennison is a comic genius!) are better than the movie, but isn't that almost always the case?
The movie gets better the more times you watch it. There are a number of, "NO!! Don't do that! It could only possibly end in disaster!!!" moments, but they become more bearable on the second, third, and forty-fifth viewings.

As much as I say only love movies for their looks, I also really love them for their quotes. I quote this movie/books a lot. Soooooo, here are some quotes!

Halloween Conundrum

I am having a Halloween costume identity crisis.
I know, Halloween is over a month away, but I need to have things planned. I freak out and stress and stress and stress and stress. Kind blog readers, would you mind sharing an opinion?

I'd been planning on going as Glinda

I was going to find a vintage-y pink prom dress and I already have pink glittery flats.

Then I was thinking of going as The Blue Fairy since my hair is blue and I have a blue tulle prom dress

I'd be a brighter royal blue-ish fairy though.

Minnie Mouse could be fun (but is that too similar as The Cat In The Hat? That's what I did two years ago.)

I've toyed with the idea of being Penelope... I could wear just about anything and a pig mask or a scarf wrapped around my face. That could prove a risk of suffocation though...

I found these awesome vintage silver shoes last Summer and I was going to be Cinderella for Halloween last year (only wearing one of said shoe) but then I ended up being the Joker's Daughter.

I'm also totally inspired by the Snow White design from the Disney Princess Designer collection. I was going to be Snow White a few years ago....

This has nothing to do with my Halloween costume but it's really cool!

What do you think? Any opinions?

I have no idea what the box says.

I just got these! Ah! I'm acting like a kid at Christmas and playing with the box, it's just so cute!

You can't go wrong if there are bunnies on the box.

I bought them to color on my Instax photos, but I think I can use them to color on the actual picture part, too! I was just going to doodle on the frame.

How do you like my keyboard? I was too excited to find a better place to take pictures.

I literally just opened the box, so I haven't gotten to really play with them yet, but trust me, you will know when I have.

Smurfs and Vampires

We saw The Smurfs today! It was so much better than I expected! I've been a Smurf fan for a very long time, and the trailers didn't exactly fill me with anticipation. I was so pleasantly surprised.

Hank Azaria (Gargamel) was fantastic aaannnddd Anton Yelchin was Clumsy Smurf!

I think the only qualms I had with the movie was the lack of Vanity, Handy and Harmony Smurf and the fact that Grouchy Smurf seemed more like Sarcastic Smurf than Grouchy... But I think that was just George Lopez.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon of Smurfiness!

I seriously love Katy's dress.

I saw Fright Night (in 3D) on Friday. Oh wow. The Doctor and Charlie Bartlett on the same screen.

It was kinda crazy.

Peter's Russell Brand-ish type character was just hilarious.

I'm not usually a big fan of horror/supernatural/thriller type movies, but this movie was so much fun! David Tennant was hilarious (as expected) and Anton was just fantastic as usual.
I have a feeling both of these movies will make their way into my DVD cabinet...

So, Nina did a post like this the other day and she linked to Katiecupcake and it all seemed like so much fun, I decided to do one, too! I didn't think coming up with 20 things would be so hard!

20 Silly Things about me.

1. I've never been on a Ferris Wheel.
2. My hair is the longest it's ever been. It falls all the way down my back. I think I want to chop it off and get a perm.
3. I love super hero comic books. I used to read them all the time. My favorite was Teen Titans.
4. I have flat feet.
5. Two of my favorite words are Vodka and aristocracy. They're fun to say.
6. I tend to randomly break out into either British or Russian accents.
7. Walt Disney is my role model.
8. Batman is my other role model.
9. I tend to hate female characters in books and relate better to male protagonists.
10. I love glitter. A lot.
11. I used to be super organized when I was a kid and would re-arrange my toys for fun.
12. Jay Baruchel is my fake boyfriend
13. I learned to ride a bicycle when I was 15 or 16... I can't remember for sure. I haven't really ridden one since.
14. I want a rickshaw or golf cart that I will decorate with vintage floral fabric and pom poms.
15. I want to be a crazy old lady with a Monkey named Jimmy Stewart when I grow up.
16. I want a bedazzled eye patch
17. I have a bedazzler, but I can't figure out how it works.
18. I've always wanted a croquet set made out of colorful hedgehogs and flamingos.

Favorite Film Friday #1: Penelope

Yay! It's Friday! All Rebecca Black references aside, since they'll only be relevant for another 10 minutes.

For the inaugural Favorite Film Friday post (it comes with it's very own acronym, FFF. Catchy, non?) I'm choosing the movie I have seen the most (in recent years, not accumulatively.)

This is a movie I can pop into my DVD player and listen to while I work on other things because I know it so well. Basically a movie must fill at least on of the following two categories to even be considered entrance into my favorites club. Yes, I like to think of my DVD's as people and my love as some sort of really ritzy country club. Pretty and or smart are my criteria’s. This movie is definitely pretty, and I think it is a genuinely good story as well.  if I could I would hop in to it a la Mary Poppins. To further illustrate just how big of an impact this movie has made on my life, whenever I see a picture of/movie with Christina Ricci (besides Penelope) I get very confused because her nose is wrong. Have I adequately explained how much I love this movie? I promise I won't gush as much about future titles*. 

All of the supporting actors are fantastic. Peter Dinklage, Catherine O'Hara, Reese Witherspoon, Simon Woods, Paul Herbert, and Russell Brand has a tiny cameo! As does Burn Gorman (Owen from Torchwood) Oh, did I mention James McAvoy? James McAvoy. I want to marry Max (his character in the movie)

It's a really sweet story. A bit of a coming of age, a bit of a rom-com-ish, a bit girl power, wrapped up in a lovely fairy tale sweater.

Such Great Heights

I discovered kickstarter a few months ago when Charlavail launched a campaign to start her line of aprons.
It's such a great idea and I love scouring through and seeing all of the projects people have started. The only other project I've pledged to was for Red Velvet's fall line... Until now..

Such Great Heights is one of my favorite songs and I love, love, love their cover, and it'll be on lavender vinyl?! Best ever!
I just wanted to pop over here to share my new discovery. Today is my Mom's birthday (Happy Birthday, Mom!) so I need to run. We're celebrating + doing presents in August, but still.

I tried out that marbled nail tutorial! It was pretty simple, I think more practice is neccessary though. It was a lot of fun dropping the polish in the water and swirling the colors. That was definitely my favorite part.

Hello, Tuesday

My visit with my sister has come to an end. I'm glad to be back home, but I miss her tons. On Sunday she let me dye her hair blue!

We went shopping and bopping around town the last two days I was there. It was HOT and very, very sunny, so a lot of picture were waaaaaayyy too washed out.
I got a really awesome cat pen

I didn't realized it until the next day, but it also meows. Yeah. Best. Pen. Ever.

I got these super cute flats, too.

I have a hard time finding flats that are cute and comfortable for my flat feet. These fit the bill!
I tried these on....

... And then I realized they were $575... Yeah... I didn't get those. I think I want to recreate a more affordable version! Sooo many sequins!

This has probably been the best Bastille day ever. Ever.
We saw "Midnight in Paris" which was FANTASTIQUE*!

The trailer did not do it justice. It was so pretty and imaginative and very, very happy. Rather odd for a Woody Allen movie. We saw it at this ritzy little theater with reserved seating and really good Dr Pepper.

This is my sister, Amanda. Have you met?

We were going to go see the midnight showing of Harry Potter, but unfortunately those plans will not becoming to fruition. Instead, my friend Larissa showed me this video

I don't know if I'll even need to see the movie now. I can't even pick a favorite moment they are all so good.

We are going to spend what is left of the evening watching French movies. I see Heartbreaker, Un Femme Est Une Femme and Amelie in my future! (I should have packed some Demy!)

Kitchen Shenanigans

So, we were having a little get together on the 2nd instead of the 4th for Independence Day and I thought it would be fun to make blue velvet moon pies instead of red.
It was very late and I was very tired. It did not end well. But, I have some pictures of the prep and whatnot going on in the kitchen!

I ended up making red velvet since the blues got ruined.

They were delicious.

I'm going to try blue velvet again when I have all the proper ingredients and a good nights sleep.

End of June Recap

I've been away for quite some time! Or it feels that way. I was sick for almost 2 weeks and didn't do much and then last Friday my Sister was in a car accident. She's ok, although it looks like The Incredible Hulk punched the trunk of her car. We spent the weekend with her to chauffeur her around and help straighten out all of the details with insurance and everything. You know, all the fun stuff. Hmmm... When I said "we helped", I meant my Mom. I was more in charge of bringing things up and down the stairs, dyeing hair, and keeping morale up. Here are a few pictures I snapped while we were at her place..

I guess it sounds like the last half of June was pretty bad... It really wasn't as horrible as I'm making it sound. A lot of good things happened, too.
1. I taught myself how to cableknit
2. I watched seasons 2-5 of Supernatural
3. I made 2 1/2 scarves
4. I rewatched Season 2 Veronica Mars (that show was soo good!)
5. I got to spend the weekend with my Sister!

See! Not all bad! Let's all hope July is a little bit calmer though... If I don't make it back on here before the 4th, I hope everyone celebrating has a safe + fun Holiday weekend!

Salt-Glitter Blues

Have I mentioned that I've sorta become a huge fan of Supernatural? Really? Once or twice? Well, this DIY post I found on Pinterest combined a new love (Supernatural) with an old love (Glitter!)
I mean, Glitter from salt? Is there a way I could make a career out of that? Oh yes, there is... Glam Demon Hunter! Hahaha (I'm kidding, I have no (current) plans to become a demon hunter)

So, I got my salt

I mixed blue food coloring with the salt

I spread it out on a pan

I baked it for 10 minutes...And... I got blue salt.

No noticable difference from when I first mixed the color.
Oh well, I learned how to make blue salt and that's a good thing to know for my next Percy Jackson marathon, but it doesn't make demon hunting any more sparkly. It simply wasn't meant to be.
Have you or do you know of anyone who has successfully made glitter from salt? Or is that what it was supposed to look like?
I'd love to know if there truly is a way!

New Things

Some things that have come into my life recently...

1. "Supernatural" Seasons 1-5

I found them marked way, way down and have been obsessed with the show ever since! I'm almost done with the 5th season. It's so good!

2. Miss L-Fire heels.

I'm planning on wearing them with this red and white gingham dress to a friends wedding this Summer. Aren't they adorable? I needed a good pair of black heels and these fit the bill!

3. Japanese Tape/Stickers

I've wanted fun tape for a very long time and I finally bit the bullet and got some! I really like the masking sticker set. It's just like the tape, except pre-cut in strips and dots!

Hello June, I think I like you!

Today has been a really great day. Really, really great.
1. I dyed my hair pink (just the tips. Like last time. I'll be back in a day or two with photos)

2. I watched a few episodes of Supernatural (Even though the show does kinda scare me...) My friend Felicia has been trying to get me to watch it for... Maybe a year now? They started airing the episodes on TNT from the pilot, so I no longer had an excuse to put it off. The show is actually pretty great. So instead of getting work done, I spend two hours a day watching a TV show! Thank God it doesn't come on during the weekend.

3. I got this vintage dolly nightgown in the mail

4. The best thing, I got a Pinterest!! It may be sorta silly that I am this excited about it, but I am! I've wanted one for awhile, but was too nervous to apply. Yesterday I finally bit the bullet and I got an email this morning saying that I was in! I spent a good part of the morning pinning things, it's so much fun. Do you have a pinterest? Grand Opening!

Baking!

I have been baking, baking, baking all day making goodies for our Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting tomorrow! Right now I'm tired, tired, tired (hmmm... Maybe I shouldn't read so much Eloise?)
I made S'mores Moon Pies (or whoopie pies as some call them) and little tarts with homemade whipped cream (the best kind) and fresh berries.
Unfortunately, my Mom had to borrow my Cannon today, so I took a few pictures with my instax. I also figured out how to scan the pictures! Yay!
Well, I have a kitchen that is in need of cleaning...

Prom!

Hey Guys, I went to Prom! The movie that is...

I didn't know how silly the hair tie looked until I got home. Oh well, you live and learn.

We celebrated my friends birthdays by getting all dolled up and seeing the movie "Prom" in theatres. It was an adorabley cheesy movie and we had the theatre to ourselves, which is always the best way to have a theatre.
Unfortunately, most of the pictures were taken on their cameras so I don't have a lot of photos.

Also, the lead girl in the movie, Nova, she had the same purse as me!

It's always fun to see your stuff in movies!

Blue Hair

I dip dyed my hair yesterday and it actually turned out pretty cool! I'd never had my hair dyed before, so it was all kind of scary at first, because not only was my hair going to be permanently damaged, but I was going to do the damaging! Turns out, it wasn't really that hard and I LOVE the results! I watched/listened to the first few episodes of Inuyasha (I got the first season on DVD last week) and I had forgotten one of the first demons Kagome & Inuyasha fought was a hair demon!

I was really surprised by how easy it was... I figured there would be far more steps/instructions/rules, but it was pretty straightforward.
What do you think of it? The first thing my Dad said was, "What's this? Are you trying to be a punk rocker?"

Sorry the pictures are so terrible.

Oh well, my Mom and my Mimi love it and their opinion as far as hair/fashion/makeup/etc. is more important to me anyways.
Ok, I'll be back later with better pictures of my new hair. I think I'm going to do pink next... :D

I've been getting a lot of vintage Francie & Skipper clothes lately. They are all so cute!

I actually took this one the day I took her out of her plastic prison.

I finally took some photos of my newest Blythe Girl! I hadn't really been doing much with my girls the past year and then I saw a picture of the newest release "Strawberry N' Creamy" and I was bitten by the Blythe bug again! Wow... That's kind of hard to say. Anyways, I am just crazy about her. I want to do photoshoots with all my girls now, maybe I'll introduce them to you later this month... :)

Ok, "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying" is probably my favorite musical. Ever. (To help illustrate just how much I love this musical, two of my dogs are named Smitty & Rosemary. P.s. Those are 2 of the 4 female characters in the show. Their brother was named Finch.)
When I found out they were reviving it, I was so happy! Then I found out Daniel Radcliffe was playing Finch. I don't have anything against Daniel Radcliffe really, I was just worried that it was stunt casting and they would ruin my favorite musical.

Yesterday was a really good day. Really, really good. I got a bunch of fun stuff in the mail and at Ikea + Anthro.

I took my Mom for cupcakes at Sprinkles and they were AMAZING! Neither of us had ever been, but we are planning on going back. Frequently.

I bought some really cool cards. I could spend hours looking at stationary and greeting cards.

The receipt just make me laugh.

Yeah. Mondays just might be my favorite day of the week.
